Safety Recalls

The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America is recalling certain 2024 Rizon FEC7K (E16), FEC9K (E18), and 2025 FECXK (E18) trucks. The electric parking brake (EPB) actuator may use a spacer that is too big, resulting in excessive friction and overheated brake components. Overheated brake components can result in a fire. NHTSA says 244 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Volvo Bus Corporation is recalling certain 2023-2025 Volvo 9700 buses. Metallic debris within the electrical connectors of the Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) may cause a short circuit, resulting in a false warning to the driver, an engine shutdown, and the release of chemical fire extinguishing agent in the engine compartment. An unexpected engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, a disabled coach bus may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers. NHTSA says 165 units are potentially affected by the recall.
