The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Altec Industries is recalling certain 2021-2023 Service Body vehicles. Water can leak into the strobe lights, which may cause an electrical short-circuit. An electrical short-circuit can increase the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 280 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain 2025-2027 Vision school buses equipped with Ricon K-Series wheelchair platform lifts. The electrical contactor may fail, preventing the controls from stopping the lift. A wheelchair lift that continues to move while occupied increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 82 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Chrysler is recalling certain 2025-2026 Ram 1500 vehicles. A radio software error may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility." A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 239,131 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Mobility Trans Safetbus, Glaval Universal, 2025 Senator II, and Starcraft Allstar transit buses equipped with certain S-Series and K-Series wheelchair platform lifts. The electrical contactor may fail, preventing the controls from stopping the lift. A wheelchair lift that continues to move while occupied increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 55 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Paccar is recalling certain 2027 Peterbilt 548 trucks. The front brake valve and hoses may be the incorrect size, which can delay the rear service brake application and release, as well as the trailer gladhand application times. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 121, "Air Brake Systems." Delayed brake response time can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 58 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling certain 2026-2027 Wayfarer recreational vehicles. The liquid propane (LP) tank may have been manufactured without the remote shut off and may be loose in the mounting bracket. LP tanks that cannot be shut off increase the risk of a fire. Additionally a loose LP tank may detach and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 88 units are potentially affected by the recall.
