Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems celebrates drivers this week for National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.
"We all share a deep reliance on truck drivers and everything they bring into our lives," says Nicole Oreskovic, Bendix's vice president of sales and marketing. "Every product, every household and every community depends on them. Their commitment and professionalism are truly remarkable, and everyone at Bendix extends our heartfelt thanks and pride in supporting what they do with solutions and innovations that enhance comfort and confidence on the road."

Bendix says even with more advanced driver assistance systems, the driver is still the most important factor in commercial vehicle and highway safety.
"What really matters is giving drivers confidence that the truck is working with them, whether that's through stability control, collision mitigation or blind spot monitoring on a crowded highway," says TJ Thomas, director of marketing and customer solutions for Bendix. "These systems are designed to assist when the unexpected happens, helping professional drivers manage some of the toughest moments on the road."
No commercial vehicle safety technology replaces a skilled, alert driver with safe driving techniques and proactive, comprehensive driver training, the company says.
Bendix offeres driver-focused education and awareness to build confidence and reinforce safe driving practices with the company's technology. This includes ride-and-drive demonstrations and in-cab experiences along with digital resources such as YouTube videos and the Driver Insight Series on the Truck Talk with Bendix podcast. It also hosts the Bendix brake school online and in person to help personnel understand braking and active safety technologies.
"Understanding the features and their limitations is essential to maximizing the benefits of safety systems," Thomas says. "Safe vehicles begin with knowledgeable people, which is why we're committed to providing drivers, fleets and technicians with the insights they need."
