Goodyear has signed an exclusive agreement with Aperia Technologies to use the latter's Halo Connect i3 to support Goodyear's global Tires-as-a-Service (TaaS) solution. The partnership was announced Monday at ATA's Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting in Nashville.

Goodyear's Michelle Ross, director of sales and marketing for the company's TaaS solution is a subscription program that couples continuous monitoring and predictive insights with the company's industry-leading service footprint to create a truly worry-free maintenance program. Through its partnership with Aperia, Ross says Michelin customers can have the Halo Connect i3 installed on any or tire position to improve insights and performance of their tires, ensuring maximum return on investment and minimal downtime at all times.

Ross says Goodyear's TaaS solution is available in North America and Europe and adds, to date, the program has been well received by commercial and last-mile delivery fleet customers alike. With 95% of their tires properly inflated, several of Goodyear’s long-haul customers are seeing real results, with an average of 3% fuel savings and over 50% breakdown reduction, keeping their fleets rolling efficiently and reliably.

“Maintaining optimal tire pressure is essential for improving fuel efficiency, reducing tire wear, and enhancing overall fleet performance,” says Gregory Boucharlat, vice president, Goodyear Tires-as-a-Service. “The Halo Connect i3 is an integral component of our comprehensive TaaS solution and we’re proud to work with Aperia to deliver a seamless experience and unparalleled value to our fleet customers.”

Goodyear chose Halo Connect for this program because the cutting-edge automatic tire inflator includes integrated tire pressure sensing, remote setpoint adjustments and customized inflation settings for every fleet. Available for factory install or retrofit, Ross says a Halo Connect can be installed on a customer's vehicle in just a few minutes, offering immediate insight into their equipment.
