Daimler reports 8% increase in North American truck sales

Daimler Truck sales in North America were up 8% in the second quarter.

Daimler Trucks North America sold 41,687 trucks in the second quarter of 2026, 8% more than it did in the same quarter of 2025.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks were up 10% in the quarter, selling 38,970 trucks, but Daimler buses fell 13% to 6,132. Battery-electric vehicles were up 21% to 1,405 trucks sold in the second quarter.

Daimler will report detailed financial data for the second quarter on Aug. 7.

Truck orders up more than 230%

Twelve months after preliminary Class 8 truck orders hit a 16-year seasonal low in the summer of 2025, orders exploded this year, with FTR and ACT Research reporting 30,500 and 31,400 units on Friday.
