Volvo Trucks will unveil its all-new Volvo VNX during a live-streamed event next month.
Set for 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 14, Volvo says the event will offer the first look at the next-generation vocational truck built for the toughest jobs in Norh America. With a bold new design and a focus on strength and durability, Volvo says the VNX will be unlike anything Volvo Trucks has brought to the North American market before.
“Volvo has built vocational trucks for some of the most demanding jobsites in the world for decades, and the all-new Volvo VNX sharpens our focus on this segment for the U.S. and Canada. This truck is nothing like you’ve ever seen before from Volvo Trucks, with a rugged, all-business design built for the toughest jobs out there,” says Peter Voorhoeve, president at Volvo Trucks North America.
In teasing the VNX, Volvo touts it isn’t new to vocational work. Volvo leads the vocational and construction segments in many markets globally, including in Northern Europe and Latin America. Additionally, Volvo also brings something no other manufacturer can: Volvo Construction Equipment has built and sold construction machines in the U.S. for more than 50 years, providing significant experience within the Volvo Group building equipment for the toughest jobsites.
“We know our customers expect their trucks to perform day in and day out in challenging conditions. As the only OEM in North America that builds both construction equipment and construction trucks, we bring a unique understanding of how work gets done on the jobsite,” says Voorhoeve.

Safety will be a priority during the event, as Volvo will detail the all-new Volvo VNX advanced safety systems, including its active safety technology and passive safety design, at the reveal.
And the company says the timing couldn’t be better, with infrastructure spending and a new generation of industrial and energy megaprojects driving a surge in Class 8 vocational demand. Volvo reports power generation construction spending is expected to grow nearly 10% annually through 2030, according to FMI, a leading construction industry research firm. And federal funding continues to flow into the country’s roads and bridges, with states already committing more than $270 billion in highway and bridge investment, according to the American Road & Transportation Builders Association.
