Designing a good tire evaluation program

The latest issue of Pressure Systems International’s (PSI) Commercial Fleet Tire Digest addressing building a good tire evaluation program.

These programs can be developed by fleets and preventive maintenance service providers, and are designed to minimize tire-related downtime and maximize casing life.

“Maximizing tire removal miles and increasing the number of tire casings that can make it through multiple retread cycles will keep tire cost/mile numbers low,” PSI says.

PSI says tire removal miles are impacted by the following factors, all of which must be addressed within a good tire evaluation program: driver, route (duty cycle), load, vehicle make and model, speed, vehicle alignment and tire inflation pressure.
