The plate is manufactured in state-of-the-art OEM manufacturing plants, using the highest grade of steel so there is no chance of failure when torqued to the proper specification, the company says. Additionally, the spacer plate performs an important function on the engine block and is designed to reduce stress on the cylinder liner flange eliminating the possibility of the liner flange cracking.
AFA says the combination of AFA’s cylinder head spacer plate and head gasket components and cylinder liners offer the best sealing available for the Caterpillar 3406E, C15, some C16 and C18 engines.
