"CSI's new EV battery pack assembly facility will give U.S. commercial vehicle manufacturers a 'Made in America' battery system using the world's most proven cutting-edge LFP cells," says David Mazaika, CSI's CEO. "The new U.S. production will cut our lead time in half, which supports CSI's goal to enable the rapid adoption of electric drive systems in commercial vehicles."
The planned facility will have an initial capacity to produce up to 4.2 GWh per year and will have the ability to further expand capacity. CSI expects it will create 300 jobs, including production, assembly, quality, engineering, supply chain,e and support and management functions.
The facility will produce and stock off-the-shelf battery packs which can be combined into validated battery systems ranging from 30kWh to more than 3.5MWh. North American OEM customers will be able to bypass lengthy and expensive battery system development programs with its products, CSI says.
