Zero-emissions company Quantron expands reach

Quantron AG is scaling up global operations, says CEO Michael Perschke.

"Quantron has been building a strong ecosystem for Quantron-as-a-Service with our U.S. Class 8 hydrogen fuel-cell truck and FirstElement Fuel hydrogen supply and distribution alliance," Perschke says. He spoke at the COLLISION Conference in Toronto on Monday. "Together, Quantron is meeting the great demand for zero-emission solutions and, specifically, hydrogen fuel-cell electric semi trucks in North America. Quantron's FCEV approach provides more range, scalability and support infrastructure. This need will just continue to grow with recent announcements of clean air standards for heavy duty vehicles and clean, zero-emission technologies. We are excited to be meeting these needs."

Quantron expanded to the U.S. in October 2022 with a focus on hydrogen solutions for long-haul transport. Quantron says its trucks will be a leader in range as it grows to offer an OEM agnostic ecosystem, with FCEV trucks ready for delivery in Europe and North American by early 2024.

It recently announced commitments with FirstElement Fuel and Goldstone Technologies Limited (GTL), and it also debuted a Class 8 hydrogen fuel-cell truck at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in April.

"Since ACT Expo, we have received strong interest from both the U.S. and Canada," says Rick Haas, CEO of Quantron U.S. "We are also seeing a trend of interest in FCEV trucks powered by green H2."

Quantron says it's partnership with GTL will help it build an AI-powered fleet and zero-emission platform. It hopes to build a digital transaction platform that will serve as the backbone of the Quantron-as-a-Service model in the future. Additionally, AI-driven software solutions can be developed that would be used independently of the manufacturer for large fleet customers.
