Dominic Grote, president and CEO at Grote Industries, was inducted into the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Hall of Fame Tuesday during the opening general session at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) in Grapevine, Texas.
Grote is the fifth generation of his family to lead his family’s business, which was founded in 1901. In accepting his award Tuesday, Grote was grateful to be inducted into such an exclusive club.
“I can’t tell you how honored and humbled I am to be recognized and included in this group of amazing heavy-duty leaders,” he said.

Grote also shared how appreciative he is to be in the aftermarket and transportation industry, noting relationships he’s made with colleagues, customers and vendor partners during his nearly 32 years in the industry are among his most cherished.
“It’s not work if you love what you do … It’s been a labor of love and I’ve been truly blessed along the way with the people who have been part of my journey,” he said.

Tuesday's award was the second Grote has won this month, as he also earned the Sagamore of the Wabash Award from Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb last week.
Grote also expressed deep gratitude to his family — both within the business and outside of it. Grote said working with his father, brother and other relatives has been a wonderful experience and he takes great pride in shepherding his family’s business.
Finally, Grote thanked his wife, children and family for their support throughout his career. “You can’t do what we do here without the support of your spouse and children,” he said.
