PSI addresses tire tread depth

The newest issue of Pressure Systems International‘s (PSI) Commercial Fleet Tire Digest addresses measuring tire tread depth.

PSI writes tire tread depth must be actively monitored due to Federal regulations, which feature legal limits for fastest wearing grooves to 4/32 in. for steer tires and 2/32 in. for drive, trailer and dollie tires.

This month’s article not only addresses how often and how exactly these depths should be measured, but also offers advice for how to maintain a tire to minimize tread wear, and options to reducing expenses related to tread wear.
