The newest entry – the CBX23 AeroBeam – is the lightest weight air suspension in the industry with a base weight of 465 pounds. It is 45 lb. lighter overall than the previous generation CBX23 and 25 lb. per axle lighter then the nearest competitive fixed frame air suspension.

A 23,000-lb. rated, fixed frame suspension is designed for flatbeds and tanker operations and per Greenhouse Gas Phase 2 legislation, the 45-lb. savings will reduce the GHG gas emission by 660 lb. over 10 years.

Roger Jansen, SAF-Holland product manager for trailer axles and suspensions, says improved features of the new suspension include heat-treated cast alloy suspension beams, 80 ksi frame brackets and a 5.75-in. diameter friction-welded axle that is 12 percent thicker than competitive axles.

Combined with the streamlined AeroBeam design, Jansen says the new CBX23 AeroBeam provides trailer builders more flexibility.

“We have a very adaptable and flexible frame attachment system,” he says, adding it can be adapted to fit a wide range of trailer types with multiple frame brackets styles, including weld-on tapered top, weld-on with wing and bolt on.

The CBX23 AeroBeam is treated with the company’s Black Armour hot dip corrosion protection and is available with the optional NewP89 or P89 Plus Air Disc Brake System.

The SAF Auto-PosiLift Automatic Axle Lift System, programmed to automatically lift the front axle in a trailer tandem a minimum of 4 in. when it senses that only one axle is necessary to carry the load, is also available on the CBX23 AeroBeam. The Auto-PosiLift system is

The CBX23 AeroBeam, which will be available through SAF-Holland’s OEM network, is backed with 5-year structural warranty.
