Phillips Industries has hired William (Bill) Ellis as the managing director for Phillips Connect Technologies (PCT).

Prior to joining Phillips Industries, Ellis was most recently a partner at Keystone Transportation Solutions, LLC, a transportation service provider to international commodity traders on the Inland Port of Virginia.

His experience includes new venture start-up, debt and equity capital financing, financial planning and forecasting, business development and strategic planning. He has worked in financial services-investment banking and brokerage, heavy machinery capital equipment, transportation and logistics-intermodal rail, and heavy commodity 3PL, the company says.

“In his new position, Bill will rely on his experience, his proven ability at cultivating and growing new relationships and his fit with Phillips philosophy of family values, hard work and listening to our customers,” says Rob Phillips, president and COO.

Phillips Industries’ newest division, PCT is developing several different packages of products that will offer their patent-pending “plug and play connectivity.” The open platform is designed to work seamlessly with many sensor-driven components supplied by various component manufacturers. Sensor data can be transmitted to the driver, to the fleet’s operations team, or even the trailer OEM utilizing various telematics options.
