Midwest Truck & Auto Parts, Inc. logoMidwest Truck & Auto Parts, Inc., has acquired Global Diesel Parts (GDP), a manufacturer of heavy-duty truck engine components, the company announced Wednesday.

The acquisition allows Midwest to expand its overall product offering, as GDP will continue to produce high-quality engine components, and the GDP brand name will be used in conjunction with Midwest’s World American brand to represent their expanded heavy-duty truck engine product line.

Founded in 2008, GDP is a major supplier of heavy-duty diesel engine parts across the U.S. and Latin America. Midwest says the GDP product line includes a strong line of engine parts for Cummins, Detroit, Navistar and Caterpillar, in addition to power steering pumps and a full line of brake components. The company will continue to be based in Texas and will retain employees across Latin America.

Former GDP President Alex Ramirez has been in the heavy-duty aftermarket for more than 30 years, and will now oversee all GDP branded engine part distribution and development under the GDP name for Midwest Truck & Auto Parts.

“This is an exciting time for our customers,” says Mark Chudacoff, president of Midwest Truck & Auto Parts. “The timing of this strategic purchase of GDP is perfect, as we continue to expand our heavy-duty product lines and distribution network.”
