GenNext held one of its largest speed mentoring sessions in group history Monday at the VIPAR Heavy Duty Annual Business Conference in Orlando.
More than 20 mentors and nearly three dozen mentees joined together Monday afternoon to share their experiences, talk about their careers and the future of the independent aftermarket. Both distributor and supplier attendees were involved from both a mentor and mentee relationship, which allowed for diverse discussions throughout the hour-long event.
GenNext President Ian Johnston of Harman Heavy Vehicle Specialists said Monday’s event is just one of the ways GenNext is focused on cultivating the next generation of aftermarket leaders. Preceding Monday’s event, he welcomed all interested parties to become more involved in GenNext and its quest to help the industry. Those sentiments were echoed afterward by Action Truck Parts‘ Nick Seidel, GenNext vice president, who reminded the group that the success of the next generation of the aftermarket is contingent on support from the industry’s leaders of today.
In addition to Monday’s event, GenNext also will hold another educational webinar for its members in the coming months, and will host its annual poker tournament in January at HDAW.
