Minimizer seat used for charitable cause

Minimizer Charity SeatThe Minimizer Long Haul Series Seat made its debut at the Great American Trucking Show in 2017, and a year later, it helped raise more than $30,000 for charity.

Minimizer donated one of its seats to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund auction, held at GATS in Dallas.

“We had some very generous donations for this year’s auction, but one of the favorites was the Minimizer Seat,” SCF Director of Philanthropy and Development Shannon Currier says. “The Minimizer Seat was announced as an auction item prior to the show and drivers were calling to put in bids before the auction even started.”

The auction raised $16,038, only to the see the total matched by Heartland Express. All of the nearly $34,000 raised goes to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund.

“I made one call to the Minimizer team, and they immediately wanted to support the auction, without question,” says Spartan Direct CEO James Rogers, one of the event organizers. “They’re a company that truly supports drivers and has their interests and well-being at the forefront of everything they do.”

Minimizer says the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund is a charity that assists over-the-road/regional semi-truck drivers and their families when an illness or injury has recently caused them to be out of work. Assistance is provided for necessary expenses, including rent/mortgage, utility bills, vehicle payments, insurance, and prescriptions.

“We love supporting these great charities, and SCF is one of the best,” adds Steve Hansen, Minimizer director of marketing.
