VMAC announced Thursday it recently sponsored Nanaimo’s Education & Career Fair (ECF).
VMAC says ECF is responsible for British Columbia’s largest career development fair, attracting more than 10,000 attendees over five different locations each year.
“It’s our pleasure to support this event, which supports the career pursuits of B.C. students planning for higher education and learning about the various career paths available to them,” says Chris Larsen, VMAC’S HR and Special Projects Manager.
The Nanaimo Education & Career Fair included a variety of exhibitors, including local employers, trade and professional associations, as well as universities, colleges and technical institutions.
Students visiting the VMAC booth were interested in learning about the wide range of career paths available to them, most notably Engineering, Fabrication, Machining, Marketing, and Quality Control.
“We wanted to communicate to students that their options are limitless in the manufacturing industry. In addition to offering career paths, training, and apprenticeships for engineering and trades, we also have opportunities in areas like sales and marketing, finance, supply chain, HR, and quality control,” says Chris Larsen. “We hope these students had the opportunity to speak with a variety of employers and post-secondary institutions at this career fair and were able to learn of some new career possibilities.”
