Cleveland, Ohio-based Valley Truck Centers has increased its Freightliner and Western Star business with the purchase of Toledo Freightliner Western Star of Toledo and Great Lakes Western Star.
“These acquisitions continue our strategy of working along the Great Lakes to grow, while doing a better job of servicing our customers through offering expanded parts and service availability as well as new vehicle sales, leasing and renting—the whole Valley package,” says Brian O’Donnell, CEO of Valley Truck Centers. “As a family-owned company, acquisitions are an important element of our overall growth strategy.”
Earlier last year, Valley Truck Centers acquired Churney’s Truck Center in Warrensville, Ohio, as well as the Don Sitts and Tim Lally Isuzu franchises in suburban Cleveland.
O’Donnell says the acquisitions will allow the company to grow sales over 8% annually.
“We have had good support from a banking partners,” he says. “What I found out over time is that publicly held dealerships are much more prevalent in our market, and they are pushing smaller organizations out of business through consolidation. With our recent growth in our Fleet One Rental and Leasing business and new appointment to National Lease, Valley will be there to support customers nationally as well.”
He adds the company is well positioned to succeed in a competitive marketplace moving forward.
“Today, we’re well-positioned for the future with the very best truck brands in the industry,” he says. “We sell Ford Commercial Trucks, which are an industry leader, we also sell Freightliner Western Star, which are market leaders in their space, and Isuzu, which is a brand that dominates its segment, too.
