Seidel Diesel Group managers meeting 2019

‘Focus on the Future’ was a fitting theme for the Seidel Diesel Group’s seventh-annual managers meeting, held earlier this month in Oak Brook, Ill.

Seidel Diesel Group says the agenda for this year’s meeting centered on how the company can continue its trajectory of growth. President Paul Thoms kicked off the meeting by reviewing “where we have been, where we are now and most importantly, where we are going.” Continuous improvement also was the mindset throughout the meeting, which featured the Seidel Diesel Group management team as well as leaders from Action Truck Parts, Diesel Service Center and all fuel injection locations. The company says the event enabled SDG to review business results, recognize significant achievements, share strategies for goal setting and provide a great opportunity for relationship building.

Other subjects covered included growth potential and product knowledge, turbochargers and product expansion, inventory management, working effectively with customers, employee engagement, marketing smarter, as well as how to be more efficient with various internal processes. The group also conversed about what sets the company apart and had a productive and open roundtable discussion about best practices.

Finally, Thoms reviewed successes since last year’s meeting, where he led the rollout of Franklin Covey’s The 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX) formula and how to achieve ‘Wildly Important Goals’ (WIGS). Thoms says “Corporate sales as a group were up 15 percent since the last managers meeting, and 4DX was key to achieving our business-critical goals.”

The company says everyone in attendance was able to see how this strategy has paid off, and how they will continue to incorporate 4DX into their goal setting.
