Heavy Duty Marketing Academy President Gene Ely has released his second heavy-duty marketing lecture, covering the subject of marketing strategy and “Why Independent Aftermarket Shares Won’t Change.”

In the lecture, Ely addresses how the OE dealer channel has positioned itself as the leading share in the aftermarket, and how the independent aftermarket and other channel partners have been forced to compete against a smaller share of the overall market. He says the new presentation also covers the following:

Ely says the online tutorial lecture, along with his new heavy-duty marketing textbook, track the above sequence of tools that will assist heavy duty marketers in developing their unique strategic marketing plans to increase future aftermarket business shares.

Says Ely, “The upshot of the lecture is that your troop strength depends how you can play in the marketplace. It’s my professional opinion that the independent aftermarket is marching daily across an open field with a company-size unit, competitively challenging a far superior OE division dug in on top of the hill.”
