The Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network (CVSN) has unveiled the full slate of scheduled speakers and a new feature for its upcoming 2019 Aftermarket Distribution Summit in September.
Scheduled for Sept. 14-18, 2019, at the Rimrock Resort in Banff, Alberta, Canada, the theme of this year’s Summit is “Climbing Business Obstacles.” CVSN says all four of event speakers will tackle those issues.
The event’s Monday morning keynote speaker is Vince Poscente, a Calgary native and an Olympic Skier, will do a presentation entitled “Full Speed Ahead.” Poscente is a high-energy expert on strategies and solutions that will definitely change how your team handles crisis, problems, competition and change while reaching all goals. His keynote presentation will deliver energy, humor and practical, take-home tools, CVSN Says.
The Monday afternoon speaker is Bernard Baumohl, a chief global economist at the Economic Outlook Group. Baumohl will look at the Economic & Geopolitical Outlook: What are the risks and Opportunities ahead? Well known for being ahead of the curve in assessing the direction of the U.S. and world economy, CVSN says Baumohl began his career as an analyst with the Council on Foreign Relations, a think tank specializing in international affairs and national security. He later served as an economist at European American Bank with responsibilities to monitor the global economy and develop forecasts. Baumohl was also an award-winning economics reporter with TIME magazine who covered the White House, Federal Reserve and Wall Street.
The Tuesday morning speaker is Ford Saeks. Saeks has redefined the formula for business success and his presentation is entitled “Business Growth Acceleration.” From start-ups to Fortune 500’s, Saeks is widely recognized as a business growth innovator. With more than 20 years of experience (ranging from retail to wholesale), Saeks has founded more than 10 companies, authored four books, awarded three U.S. patents, and received numerous industry awards. From grassroots to Google, Saeks provides his clients with fresh perspectives and doable tactics to resolve marketing, operations, and growth challenges, CVSN says.
Finally, the Tuesday afternoon presenter is Robert Wendover, who will address “Making Smart Decisions in a Dumbed-Down World.” Wendover is an award-winning author who has been researching and writing about workforce trends for more than 30 years. CVSN says his ten books include Figure It Out! Making Smart Decisions in a Dumbed-Down World, Crossing the Generational Divide: Essential Skills for Managing the Modern Workforce, On Cloud Nine: Weathering the Challenge of Many Generations in the Workplace, and more. Wendover also has written or contributed to more than 200 articles for a wide variety of national publications.
And that’s not all that will be happening at this year’s action-packed Summit, CVSN says.
This year’s event also will include the presentation of the annual CVSN President’s Award to Steve Crowley and Pat Biermann, and the presentation of the second annual 4 Under 40 awards by GenNext, sponsored by Trucks, Parts, Service — the latter of which GenNext is still soliciting nominations for from the aftermarket industry.
Also new to the 2019 Summit is a silent and live auction to raise money for the Calgary Sick Kids Hospital. This event comes to CVSN after being part of the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Canada (HDAC) event for more than a decade and will rotate between the U.S. and Canada at future locations of the Summit. CVSN says the auction is a great way for the independent aftermarket industry to support a wonderful cause.
