The following employment changes were announced to the trucking industry last week (Sept. 16-22, 2019).

  • The American Transportation Research Institute announced two promotions. Jeffrey Short has been promoted to vice president and Alexandra Shirk has been promoted to research associate.
  • The National Trailer Dealers Association (NTDA) has elected four dealer members to serve three-year terms on its board of directors: Travis Johnson, CEO, Intermountain Trailer Sales & Service; Mack Keay, branch manager, Ocean Trailer; Benton Reynolds, senior vice president, W&B — Superior Trailer Sales; and Jamey Vaughn, president and owner, Twin State Trailers.
  • Former Dayton Parts President and CEO Gary Smalley has died.
  • Mike Tucker has stepped down from his position as president and CEO, Mickey Truck Bodies ,while undergoing treatment for an illness. He will continue to be active in the company’s business in an advisory role. Matt Sink, currently executive vice president of both Mickey Truck Bodies and Mickey Ventures & Holdings (MV&H), has been named CEO of Mickey Truck Bodies. Tom Arland, currently Mickey’s vice president, corporate sales, fleet services and parts, has been named president of the company.
  • Spartan Motors’ Chief Financial Officer Frederick “Rick” Sohm will be stepping down from his position for non-business related reasons.
