AFA’s head bolt kit includes the proper quantity of each head bolt and washers for the Caterpillar C15 engines, part number AFA-HBSC15, the company says.
AFA’s head bolts, also available separately, are part numbers 1241854 and 1241855 and are manufactured in state-of-the-art OEM manufacturing plants, using the highest grade of steel so that there is no chance of head bolt failure when torqued to the proper specification, AFA says. The hardened washers in the kit, part number 5H1504, also are available separately and must be replaced with the head bolts as instructed by the OE Service information.
AFA says the Caterpillar C15 head bolts are “torque-to-yield” design bolts that have a higher torque value than the original design head bolts.
