Buyers Products, a work truck equipment manufacturer headquartered in Ohio, launched a Spanish language program for its employees through a partnership with HOLA Ohio.
"Clear communication is essential for a safe, collaborative workplace," says Eliseiana Soto, human resources representative for Buyers Products. "By learning Spanish, our team leaders and coworkers can better connect with one another, ensure everyone's voice is heard and support career growth for all."

HOLA Ohio is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Latino and immigrant communities. It offers free English language learning classes for adults; these Spanish classes are designed to meet employees halfway and strengthen communication between English- and Spanish-speakers.
"We're proud to partner with Buyers on a program that breaks down barriers and builds bridges," says Veronica Isabel Dahlberg, executive director of HOLA Ohio. "Together, we're strengthening workplaces, families and our community."
Buyers says the classes reflect the company's commitment to creating a workplace where all employees can succeed in a manufacturing career. An eight-week pilot course gave nearly 30 employees the opportunity to develop practical, conversational Spanish for use at work and in every day life. The group said the program was engaging and empowering.
