Coming in seventh on the Truck Parts & Service top products of 2018 list is SKF’s Scotseal X-Treme wheel-end seal for drive, steer and trailer axles.
The Scotseal X-Treme wheel-end seal’s design features include optimized primary and axial lip profiles, a new metal unitizer geometry and the use of an upgraded HNBR lip material, which enhances the performance of SKF’s “wave” lip design.
Ultimately, the company says the product improves fuel economy, helps reduce the risk of premature wheel-end failures and the high costs associated with unplanned downtime and vehicle recovery.
Like SKF’s other Scotseal wheel-end seal products, the Scotseal X-Treme can be installed by hand, requires no special installation tools and offers exceptional performance in virtually all operating conditions, SKF says.
Also, the Scotseal X-Treme wheel-end seal provides wear resistance for optimum seal life and is backed by a five-year/500,000-mile warranty, the company adds.
