Denso introduces PowerEdge aftermarket branded products

Updated May 16, 2019

Denso Products and Services Americas (DPAM), an affiliate of leading global mobility supplier Denso Corporation, Tuesday introduced its new PowerEdge brand of starters, alternators and DPF, DOC units for heavy-duty trucks at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2019 in Las Vegas.

Joe Mejaly, DPAM senior vice president of operations, sales, strategic planning and marketing, says this new stand-alone line of heavy-duty aftermarket products pairs Denso’s world-class engineering, design and standards with its supply chain partnerships to meet the industry’s growing demand for premium parts at competitive prices.

“PowerEdge delivers better-than-best technology and parts to the heavy-duty market at better-than-best prices,” he says. “We’ve stepped up in a big way to deliver the higher performance, fuel efficiency, durability and value our customers need to succeed.”

According to Mejaly, the new PowerEdge products meet and exceed the increased electrical demands and emissions control requirements of the heavy-duty trucking industry from the largest fleet companies to individual operators seeking the highest quality parts for used trucks.

Mejaly adds PowerEdge builds on DPAM’s expertise with starters, alternators, and aftertreament products — diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and diesel oxidation catalysts (DOCs) — in the heavy-duty segment, as well as the company’s proven track record for excellence in innovation and craftsmanship with all its automotive products.

DPAM also announced Tuesday as part of the PowerEdge launch the introduction of www.PowerEdgeProducts.com, its new dedicated website with detailed information on applications and part numbers.

“We’re rolling out the PowerEdge brand today, and we’re planning for tomorrow,” says Mejaly. “As technology and other requirements evolve, the industry can count on PowerEdge to meet customers’ changing needs over the long haul.”

DPAM says PowerEdge starters feature 12 part numbers with 31,000 applications that cover more than 90 percent of all Class 8 trucks on the road. All units are 100 percent new and come with a one-year/unlimited mileage warranty. Customers are ordering now, and shipping will begin in February.

Also beginning this summer, four 12-volt 170-amp PowerEdge alternators in pad mount and J180 mount types covering nearly all Class 8 trucks in operation will be available. Each unit is built with segment conductor (SC) technology that incorporates a square wire copper stator for a lightweight alternator with superior efficiency, better conductivity, higher amps at idle and cruising speed, and improved air flow for cooling and longer life. All units are 100 percent new and come with a one-year/unlimited mileage warranty.

Finally, available now are PowerEdge aftertreatment products: 53 DPFs with 335 applications and 23 DOCs with 92 applications covering 93 percent of heavy-duty market for 2007 or newer Class 8 trucks. PowerEdge also offers 17 DPFs and DOCs covering all diesel applications in the light- and medium-duty markets. DPAM says all DPFs and DOCs meet or exceed original equipment (OE) quality.

Advantages of the 100 percent U.S. sourced components include high-grade stainless steel canisters that increase durability and resist corrosion, advanced filter coating and tough cordierite substrates that reduce active regeneration, decreased backpressure for enhanced performance for fuel and time savings and improved thermal stability and efficiency, the company says. The DPFs and DOCs come with a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

DPAM adds the PowerEdge brand will be on display at booth 905 during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2019 this week in Las Vegas.
