ATD holding exclusive webinar to offer expertise regarding dealership sales

The American Truck Dealers (ATD) will hold an exclusive webinar with Performance Brokerage Services on Aug. 17, to offer guidance for commercial truck dealers who are considering buying or selling a dealership business.

Performance Brokerage Services is North America’s highest volume dealership brokerage firm. With over 25 years of experience, it has advised on the sale 700 dealerships sold and in 2021, the company consummated 72 transactions, marking a record-breaking year.

"Even though every business is unique, you all have similar goals, to maximize the value of your life's work so you can be financially secure when you exit," the company says. 

ATD says Performance Brokerage Services will be presenting a comprehensive overview of the buy-sell process. The company states guidance is essential when selling (or buying) a business for several reasons.

According to Performance Brokerage Services:

  • 83 percent of owners do not have a written exit plan or process.
  • 98 percent of owners are unsure of the value of their businesses.
  • 78 percent of owners do not have a formal advisory team to help plan their exit.
  • 88 percent of those that exit admit they were not fully satisfied with the outcome after the sale.
