Market moves: Fed's rate cut hasn't hit acquisition space

Mergers and acquisitions roundup

The impact of the Federal Reserve's rate cut hasn't made its way to trucking's dealers, aftermarket and supplier sectors yet, as M&A activity remained at historical lows in September.

Only one transaction was announced but it was a big one.

High Bar Brands announced Sept. 5, it has acquired BettsHD, a division of the 156-year-old Betts Company, based in Fresno, Calif. The BettsHD product line includes metal fenders and mud flap hangers. "We’re excited to welcome a well-known brand like BettsHD to the High Bar Brands family," said High Bar Brands President and CEO Christopher Thorpe. "The history, reputation, and products make this a perfect addition to our lineup of iconic brands."
