Bruckner's Truck & Equipment has acquired Transport Equipment Inc. (TEC), adding three locations in the Pacific Northwest and expanding its dealer network to more than 40 locations in ten states.

“We are excited to expand our presence in the Northwest and continue the legacy built by the Bidlake family. As a second-generation dealership, they have established a reputation for exceptional customer service and a ‘do what it takes’ attitude. We are committed to upholding that standard with the existing team,” says Brian Bruckner, president of Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment.

For over 40 years, TEI has been a trusted name in the trucking industry, operating from three locations in Lewiston, Idaho; Missoula, Mont.; and Spokane, Wash. Steve and Betty Bidlake founded the company in 1983 after selling their trucking business, which had grown from a single logging truck to nearly 100 units hauling a variety of goods. TEI initially specialized in trailers before expanding into truck sales in 1985. Generations of the Bidlake family have contributed to the company’s growth and success, with customer service as the cornerstone of its operations.

Bruckner's expanding operation with TEI acquisition

Acquiring TEI operations strengthens Bruckner’s presence in the Northwest and reinforces its commitment to delivering high-quality service and industry-leading support across its growing network.

“This acquisition represents more than just growth — it’s about uniting two highly respected dealer networks to enhance customer support and maximize uptime,” says Peter Voorhoeve, president, Volvo Trucks North America. “At Volvo Trucks, we recognize the vital role dealers play in providing seamless service solutions. Bruckner’s has long demonstrated a customer-first approach, and by integrating TEI’s expertise and legacy, they will further elevate the level of service and support available to fleets in these key markets.”

“For nearly a century, Mack Trucks has valued its relationship with Bruckner’s, whose commitment to customer service and industry expertise has made them an ideal partner,” adds Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America. “Their expansion into these new territories will bring Mack’s legendary trucks and support services to even more customers in this important transportation corridor.”

With this acquisition, Bruckner’s now operates 41 locations, serving customers across 10 states. Each location is a Volvo Certified Uptime Dealer, and the company maintains 33 mobile service trucks to maximize customer uptime. All TEI locations will continue operating under the same schedule with no changes to contact details, the company says.

“Since 1932, Bruckner’s has prioritized investing in people to deliver top-tier service. TEI has built a strong foundation by equipping their team and facilities with the best tools and training. We are excited to build upon their success and continue delivering best-in-class trucks, trailers, parts, and service to our new customers in Idaho, Montana and Washington,” says Chris Bruckner, vice president of Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment.
