We asked. You answered. And 76% of you believe former President Donald Trump will win the presidency again.
That’s the result of a TPS reader poll we ran on our website last month. The spread tracks with results from our sister site Overdrive, where 76% of owner-operator and small fleet responders said in September they intended to vote for Trump this fall. Vice President Kamala Harris earned 19% of support in the same poll.
Trucking industry political campaigns also have skewed heavily toward the former president. Overdrive reported in September 84.9% of financial support trucking companies and organizations have donated to political campaigns during this cycle has gone to Republican candidates.
The election itself will of course be much closer. The candidates are both campaigning in battleground states today and it was reported last week nearly 50 million Americans have already cast their ballot.
As for who will actually win, and what they’ll do when they’re in charge? TPS can’t answer that, but in our interviews with experts last month, we learned the impact of the election won’t really be felt by trucking for a while. Our industry will keep selling equipment and providing uptime to carriers like it always has.
