Thermo King named its dealer of the year at its Jan. 30 dealer principal meeting and its top dealer technician after a competition.
Transport Refrigeration Inc. was the 2024 North American Dealer of the Year and Frio Control S.A. De C.V. was the 2024 Latin American Dealer of the Year. These are the highest honors given by Thermo King Americans annually.
Frio Control is Thermo King's 2024 Latin America Dealer of the Year.

The company chooses its dealers of the year based on performance and leadership criteria, including business growth, brand representation, customer service and positive culture that ensures the delivery of dependable solutions. Other dealers that received awards are:
- Thermo King of the Southeast (TKSE), Aftermarket Dealer of the Year.
- Convoy Servicing, CSI Service Award.
- Thermo King Eastern Canada (Vares), Bus Dealer of the Year.
- Convoy Servicing, Western Region Dealer of the Year.
- Transport Refrigeration, Central Region Dealer of the Year.
- Thermo King of the Southeast (TKSE), Eastern Region Dealer of the Year.
In Latin America, top dealerships are:
- Piloto Automotiva e Refrigeração, Sales Excellence, South Region.
- Artica S.A. (Costa Rica), Sales Excellence, North Region.
- Mincarone & Ruiz Ltda., Aftermarket Excellence, South Region.
- Niutec S.A. de C.V. Serviclimas, Aftermarket Excellence, North Region.
Scott DeWaal wins Thermo King's 2024 Top Tech Dealer competition.
Scott DeWaal from Salt Lake City's Peak Thermo King was named the 2024 Top Tech Dealer Technician. He was the top competitor in the company's second technician contest. Thermo King says 120 participants from the North American dealer network vied for the top prize. There were three increasingly challenging phases: a qualifier test, a virtually proctored and timed knowledge test, and a hands-on competition.
"This competition underscores the important role the skilled workforce plays across the globe, but especially in our industry," says Mark Nyman, channel excellence leader for Thermo King Americas. "Investment in our technicians is a vital way we continue moving our industry forward. Our dealerships are committed to providing ongoing training and technical skills that keep them current on ever-evolving technologies to meet customer needs. This competition is one way we can honor and reward them."
DeWaal is a 22-year employee of Peak Thermo King. In second place was Aaron Hunt from CSTK East in Philadelphia and Nathan Morris from Transport Refrigeration in De Pere, Wis., came in third.
