Just one month ago, Truck Parts & Service featured a cover story titled “Get Connected,” a detailed summary of how aftermarket businesses are using the Internet to grow and strengthen their businesses in this increasingly plugged in world.

While doing research for the article, I spoke with aftermarket professionals throughout the supply chain, and one thing was clear — the Internet is an advantageous tool if you’re willing to work with it.

Manufacturers and suppliers are using it to provide information, service training and sales literature about their product lines, while distributors have discovered the Internet can be more than just a location for contact information. Many of the distributors I spoke with for my article are using the Internet throughout their businesses, strengthening the flow of information within their companies while increasing their marketability and reach to their customer base.

The added connections are working. Distributors are servicing their customers like never before, providing up-to-the-minute information about new sales, products and business offers.

Here at Truck Parts & Service, we want to do the same for you; that’s why today we are launching this blog and the official Truck Parts & Service Facebook page at www.facebook.com/truckpartsandservice. Feel free to go check it out. It’s clearly new, but we hope to improve it every day. Also, if you have any tips or requests for the page make sure to let us know. We are building the site for you; we want it to be as beneficial as possible.

These new offerings are just the start of our new social media platform, designed to provide you as many ways as possible to keep up with aftermarket. You want to know what’s going on, and we want to tell you.

And for those of you who enjoy receiving our daily email newsletter and monthly magazine, do not worry, we are making no changes to our current content streams. We are simply adding more avenues for you and other aftermarket players to find out what’s going on in our world.
