Wabash National, Summit Truck Group reach partnership deal

Updated Jul 25, 2017

Wabash National Corporation has announced an agreement with Summit Truck Group to provide sales, parts, and service for Wabash National dry and refrigerated van trailers and truck bodies, as well as Transcraft and Benson platform trailers in select areas of Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Summit Truck Group is one of the largest commercial truck dealer groups in the U.S., operating 32 locations across the Southwestern U.S.

“The agreement with Summit Truck Group is another step in executing Wabash National’s strategic growth plan as we expand access and service for our customers in the competitive South Central region,” explained Brent Yeagy, president and chief operating officer. “This is the first time Summit Truck Group has added trailers and truck bodies to its products and services, which speaks to the company’s confidence in Wabash National. The world-class service and values that Summit is known for will serve our customers well.”

Between the end of July and Aug. 31, 2017, Summit Truck Group will facilitate the transition of two Wabash National Trailer Centers in Dallas and San Antonio, Texas, to independent dealer facilities operated by Summit.

The newly acquired locations will add to the geographic footprint of Summit Truck Group’s 13 existing locations in Texas and Oklahoma that will sell and service Wabash National vans and truck bodies. Transcraft and Benson products will be stocked and sold at authorized locations in both Dallas and San Antonio.

“We selected Summit Truck Group as our new dealer partner because of the company’s values, its reputation for customer service and its extensive network within the trucking industry. We’re excited about the possibilities for both businesses, as well as our mutual customers,” says Chief Executive Officer Dick Giromini.

Summit Truck Group will be fully stocked with new model year Wabash National van trailers, truck bodies, and Transcraft and Benson platform trailers, in addition to being supplied with a full selection of parts, the company says.
