Jacobs Vehicle Systems announces the sale of its 7 millionth engine brake.
While 31 years passed before Jacobs sold its one millionth engine brake, the sale of its 7 millionth Jake Brake comes only two years after reaching the six-million milestone.
From 1961 to the early 1990s, Jacobs sold engine brakes as aftermarket products in North America. Because of the shift to OEM factory installation and geographic expansion, Jacobs says it now provides engine brakes to over 30 customers with locations in Europe, China, Japan, India, and the U.S.
“We could not have reached this milestone without the success of our customers around the world,” says Steve Ernest, vice president, Engineering and Business Development. “By developing the latest in engine braking and valve actuation technology for our customers, we provide fleets with the reliability, performance, and value that they come to expect from Jacobs.”
