Volvo Financial Services honored for workplace culture

Updated Jul 4, 2018

Volvo Financial Services USA has been recertified as a Great Place to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute, a global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures.

“We’re thrilled to be recertified as a Great Place to Work, because the designation is based on feedback from the employees themselves. There is no better testament to our culture than that,” says Tom Guse, president at Volvo Financial Services (VFS). “We are big believers in trust-based leadership, and our workforce is engaged, connected and passionate.”

VFS received its first Great Place to Work certification in 2016, and reapplied for the designation in early 2018, submitting an application detailing company demographics, policies and practices. The final step in the recertification process was the Great Place to Work Trust Index Employee Survey, which was sent to more than 200 VFS employees across the USA to gather input, the company says.

“To achieve a great workplace culture, we need to have the right people in place, and encourage them to contribute and be innovative. Being recertified as a Great Place to Work is an indication that we’re succeeding,” says Jes Schneider, vice president, human resources at VFS Region Americas.

According to VFS, Great Place to Work Institute research shows that a high-trust, high-performance culture can help a company attract top talent as well as retain talent by promoting respect among colleagues and giving employees a deeper connection to their daily work.
