Ohio Machinery Co., doing business as Northern Ohio Peterbilt, has entered into an asset purchase agreement with AMG Peterbilt Group, which will allow the company to expand its sales and service footprint into central Ohio.

The agreement, which has a target close date of Nov. 30, 2019, includes the purchase of the operating assets of AMG from its Columbus, Marietta and Zanesville locations as well as its pre-delivery inspection (PDI) center in Denton, Texas.

As the two parties work towards the close of this transaction, Ohio Machinery Co. has also entered into an interim management agreement with AMG, effective Oct.. 28, 2019, which the company says allows for continuous, uninterrupted truck sales, service work and parts sales support for area customers.

The company says the goal is to ensure the Peterbilt customer base that there will be no gaps in service or parts availability.

“We intend to build upon the success we’ve seen with our own operations to provide the premium experience they have come to expect from the Peterbilt, Northern Ohio Peterbilt, and Ohio Machinery Co. names,” says Ken Taylor, owner and president, Ohio Machinery Co.
