Through the past five decades, TCI has grown its business organically and through acquisitions to now include 10 full-service dealerships and two auxiliary locations in three states. Today, the second- and third-generation of the Hopkins’ family alongside minority partner, Michael Yates, and his sons lead a team of 782 individuals with the same passionate commitments to their people, communities and exceptional customer service that are the cornerstones of Truck Centers’ legacy.
“This golden anniversary would not be possible if it was not for our dedicated team who are steadfast about doing the right thing for our customers, our trusted partners at Daimler Trucks North America and Daimler Truck Financial who have advocated for us numerous times over the years and the loyal customers who gave us a chance to serve them,” says M. John Hopkins, IV, TCI chairman. “I am thankful for every one of them and this milestone is a celebration of what a team can accomplish together.”
While the company will celebrate its formal anniversary on Aug. 1, the company says it is going to be an exciting year full of reflection, team spirit and engagement to celebrate not only Truck Centers’ past but also be inspired by what is yet to come.
A temporary 50th-anniversary mark has already been unveiled that pays homage to a previous TCI logo but now boasts an updated Freightliner New Cascadia grille, horizontal ribbon and showcases the hallmark years of our founding and anniversary. The company also is focusing its anniversary on a campaign dubbed “Celebrating Our Past, Driving Our Future.” The initiative puts the entire TCI team at the nucleus of everything and the continuum between what has been and what is yet to be as they are embodiments of the culture and the key driving force of TCI’s future, the company says.
