The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain 2018-2019 Vision and All American school buses equipped with 7000 EV electric drivetrain units. A connector within the wire harnesses may become unplugged causing loss of communication between control modules, resulting in sudden loss of drive power and power steering. A sudden loss of drive power and loss of power steering increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 58 vehicles are affected by this recall.
  • Conel dba McElrath Trailers is recalling certain 2016-2020 VX50-800 and VX30-800 trailers. The welded area of a structural joint of the trailer frame may crack from fatigue. The cracked welds may affect the trailer’s handling, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 305 vehicles are affected by this recall.
  • Daimler Vans USA is recalling certain 2019 Mercedes Benz Sprinter and Freightliner Sprinter vehicles. The connecting screws on the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe may not have been correctly tightened. If the connecting screws are not properly tightened, hot exhaust gases may leak from the EGR pipe, increasing the risk of a fire. NHTSA says potentially 4,424 vehicles are affected by this recall.
  • Forest River is recalling certain 2020 Cedar Creek trailers. The residential stove may have been installed too close to the window valance, potentially resulting in a fire. A fire can increase the risk of an injury. NHTSA says potentially 184 vehicles are affected by this recall.
  • Forest River is recalling certain 2020 Crusader CSF395BHL recreational trailers. The rear ladder may block the window on the rear wall, preventing the window from being used as an emergency exit. If the rear window cannot be used to exit the vehicle during an emergency, there would be an increased risk of injury. NHTSA says potentially 20 vehicles are affected by this recall.
