NTDA awards $45,500 in scholarships

The National Trailer Dealers Association (NTDA) has selected 29 recipients of scholarships for deserving students.

“This year presented a challenge in providing scholarships to deserving student applicants. With no in-person convention or events to fund the scholarship program, the NTDA faced having very limited funds to award to deserving applicants. Thirty-Nine students applied the NTDA Scholarship this year. Our opening balance in the fund was approximately $8,900,” says NTDA Chairman of the Board Michael Shuemake.

“However, the generosity of our members was overwhelming this year. Starting with a matching donation challenge and the appeal for funds, NTDA members added $36,600 to the opening balance to fund $45,500 in scholarships,” Shuemake says.

NTDA President Gwen Brown says, “We want to thank the members for making this one of the best scholarship years to-date. We have very generous and committed members to the Scholarship Program, which allows us to reward and honor these deserving applicants.”

The 2020 scholarships were underwritten by Michelin North America, HAVCO Wood Products, East Manufacturing, Pressure Systems International, Transglobal Door, as well as by generous individual member donors, NTDA says.
