Commercial Motor Vehicle Consulting (CMVC) reports its CV Parts Aftermarket Sales Leading Indicator (PLI) increased 1.1 percent in February from the previous month, which was the thirteenth consecutive monthly increase in PLI.
February’s Index is 10.1 percent higher than February 2021, CMVC states.
“The factors in place driving CV parts aftermarket sales — evaluated fleet capacity utilization and new and used truck operators extending truck trade-cycles due to the lack of availability of new and used trucks — will remain in place in the coming months resulting in continual strong growth in parts aftermarket sales,” says CMVC President Chris Brady.
“Trucks are depreciating at faster-than-normal rates due to the combination of evaluated fleet capacity utilization and truck operators extending truck trade-cycles causing trucks to operate in applications longer than normal resulting in truck operators performing repairs normally not performed during their vehicle ownership period,” Brady says.
