Earnings reports across the commercial vehicle industry are showing signs of improvement as the industry works its way toward recovery, even though some parts companies are taking their expectations for the rest of the year down a notch.

Dorman Products Chairman, President and CEO Kevin Olsen says the company delivered solid performance, but it’s narrowing its full year guidance.

“We now expect full-year net sales growth to be in the range of 2-3%,” Olsen says, versus previous expectations of 3-5%.

Meanwhile, OEMs are seeing revenues and sales work their way back up after a bleak 2025.

“Customer activity is on good levels with a high utilization of vehicles and machines, supporting demand for services,” says Martin Lundstedt, president and CEO of Volvo Group.

Dorman Products

Dorman’s third quarter net sales were up 3.3% year over year to $561.7 million with a gross profit of $221.6 million, or 39.4% of sales.

“We delivered solid performance in the quarter,” says Kevin Olsen, chairman, president and CEO. “Given our performance through the first nine months of the year and additional pricing actions we expect to take in the fourth quarter, we are narrowing our full year 2026 guidance. We now expect full-year net sales growth to be in the range of 2-3%.”

Previously, the company expected 3-5% net sales growth.

Heavy-duty saw 5% growth in the third quarter to $66.1 million and flat profit margins year over year.

“Supported by our strong balance sheet and liquidity position, and the strategic advantages of our innovation engine and diversified supplier network, we remain confident in our long-term growth strategy,” he adds.

Genuine Parts Company

Genuine Parts Company (GPC) says it’s split into two companies — GPC, which will focus on automotive business, and Motion, which will take commercial vehicle and industrial business — remains on track. It’s third quarter earnings were up year over year, owing to a 2.9% increase in comparable sales.

Industrial sales were $2.4 billion, up 6% year over year, with a 5.5% increase in comparable sales. In an updated outlook for the rest of the year, it kept total sales growth and industrial sales growth both even. Total sales should be up 3-5.5% and industrial sales should be up 3-6%, the company predicts. It lowered predictions for diluted earnings per share and adjusted diluted earnings per share.

SKF

Another company splitting off automotive operations is SKF. It’s third-quarter earnings show organic growth of 4.3% year over year, driven in part by higher OEM demand in the Americas.
