Partsriver.com has emerged as an online marketplace for heavy-duty truck part buyers and sellers.

Buyers can find and buy parts online from sellers around the country. Find alternate parts, view VMRS classification codes, manage and track orders online.

Buyers also can submit an RFQ to multiple sellers, which can help find better pricing.

Steve de Laet, chief sales and marketing officer, says the website works by focusing on the IP address of a prospective buyer and pulling up the available parts in that person’s area. De Laet says the site will initially show the closest seller who has a part and the closest location of all alternative parts, as well as remanufactured options, prospective parts locations nearby and other parts sellers nationwide that have the part.

PartsRiver’s system also provides links to e-store’s for distributors and dealers who have an online inventory, and parts sellers are provided a complete online e-Commerce presence with no hardware or software investment, with an option to customize an online store.

The site was officially launched March 10 at TMC in Nashville, and de Laet says early feedback is positive.

“We are seeing an incredible amount of interest,” he says. “Fleets are excited about this opportunity.”
