MERA announces the election of Peter Butterfield, chairman and CEO at Omega Environmental Technologies, to the position of chairman of the MERA Board of Directors.

Butterfield succeeds Shawn Zwicker, global operations leader, remanufacturing, Cummins Inc., who will continue to serve on the MERA Board as a member of the executive committee.

“It is an honor to have been elected as the next chairman of MERA,” says Butterfield. “I believe MERA has grown to become the preeminent trade association for the remanufacturing industry, and I look forward to building upon the leadership and success of Shawn Zwicker and MERA Founding Chairman Michael Cardone Jr.”

“Peter Butterfield is a proven leader,” says Zwicker. “He was a vice chairman of MERA during my tenure, and he is ready to serve MERA members as we continue our mission to advance the remanufacturing industry and the business interests of our members.”

“On behalf of the entire MERA Board of Directors, I thank Shawn Zwicker for his outstanding and dedicated service,” adds John Chalifoux, president and COO, MERA. “Peter Butterfield’s experience as an OEM executive and owner of an independent remanufacturer and supplier company will help MERA in its quest to further unite the remanufacturing industry.”
