AFA Industries announces the availability of a new ring set for the Cummins N14 engine families. AFA says this ring set replaces A3804500 in most applications.
Part Number A4089489, is a single cylinder ring set that has a specially engineered oil ring in the set. AFA says this oil ring is made from gas nitrided stainless steel and provides additional hardness and scuff resistance for better ring to liner sealing capabilities. Gas nitrided rings also are said to provide overall strength only offered by a steel ring as well as provide high conformability, reduced piston ring mass, and less friction. These benefits allow for greater horsepower and extend the service life of the engine, AFA says.
These ring sets come packaged in AFA cylinder kits that include application engineered pistons, designed specifically for Cummins N14 engines. These engines operate in very high-heat conditions and AFA engine parts are engineered to withstand the harshest operating environments. AFA says its aluminum and forged steel pistons have specifically machined bowls using CAD/CAM engineering and production. Gaskets are manufactured in AFA manufacturing facilities using high-temperature materials specific to the N14 engine applications. Some of the competition use non-application specific materials that will cause premature wear that will ultimately diminish performance and hours of use, AFA says.
Also available are in-frame and complete overhaul engine kits, cylinder components, valve train parts, water and oil pumps, cooling system components, fuel system components, and other engine parts to help you repair most components for the N14 Series engines.
