Former president of Council of Fleet Specialists dies

Don Holt, former executive at Hastings Diesel Service and past president of the Council of Fleet Specialists (CFS), has died. He was 70.

Holt took over his father’s business Hastings Diesel Service in 1968 and ran the business with his brother Jim (who joined in 1977) until selling to FleetPride in 1999. Holt was president of CFS in 1995-1996, and was a member of the Nebraska Trucking Association. He also served as Campaign Chairman of Hastings United Way, as a member of the Hastings Board of Education and the board of Foundation One Bank in Omaha.

His family will receive friends from 5 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 10 at the Bel Air Chapel, 12100 W. Center Rd., in Hastings, Neb. Services will be held the following day at 11 a.m. at Countryside Community Church, 8787 Pacific Street. Private Interment, Parkview Cemetery in Hastings.

In lieu of flowers, the family says memorials are suggested to Hastings YMCA, The ALS Association Mid-America Chapter, or Countryside Church Relocation Campaign.
