Bosch announced on Thursday it plans to acquire Chicago-based predictive maintenance firm Uptake Technologies. The financial details were not disclosed.
"This planned acquisition strengthens our position as a leader in data-driven mobility services," says Paul Thomas, president of Bosch North America and of Bosch Mobility Americas. Bosch says the move is intended to accelerate the company's predictive maintenance and vehicle health services capabilities by advancing go-to-market timelines and expanding fleet services offerings. It will allow the combination of Uptake AI-driven predictive maintenance solutions with data from the Bosch Connectivity Hub and the Bosch FleetME ecosystem, resulting in insights to help fleets reduce maintenance costs and uptime, the companies say.
Uptake was founded in 2014. Its solutions leverage advanced AI and machine learning techniques to deliver actionable maintenance insights. Predictions are paired with recommendations based on severity and cost impact, allowing for the optimization of parts planning and maintenance workflows. The company's associates will be integrated into Bosch.
