Brian Stevens, an ASE-certified truck technician, recently was honored with a national achievement award as the Freightliner/Western Star/ASE Master M/H Truck Technician of the Year. Stevens, of Gretna, Neb., is the shop foreman at Truck Center Companies in Omaha. He has been a technician for 18 years.
The ASE annual awards spotlight top scorers on the ASE certification tests from among the more than a quarter of a million ASE certified professionals nationwide. In addition to looking for top scores when selecting honorees, award sponsors examine on-the-job excellence and community service, among other factors.
“Brian is one of the outstanding ASE certified professionals recognized annually by different segments of the automotive service and repair industry,” says Timothy Zilke, ASE president and CEO. “Each of these elite technicians is presented with an industry-specific award recognizing their achievement.”
Forty-seven automotive professionals were honored Nov. 15, 2017, at the Fall Board of Governors meeting of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence held in San Diego.
“ASE has been honoring outstanding automotive professionals in our industry for more than 40 years,” Zilke says. Thirty-six companies from OEM and aftermarket segments sponsored the individual technician recognition awards in the auto, truck, collision and parts categories, along with awards for instructors.
