Phillips Industries final Qwik Tech Tips of the year addresses winter trailer lighting, and offers a number of helpful technical instructions to keep customers’ trucks on the road without electrical issues during harsh winter weather.

The company notes that “working lights are important all year round, but during the winter season in areas where visibility may be impaired due to weather conditions such as snow and rain, it is even more important that lights are visible and functioning properly.”

While proper maintenance of the electrical system is an essential part of keeping the lights operational, Phillips Industries says there are some simple steps that can be taken to keep trailer lighting in working order this winter.

The company’s technical bulletin then goes on to provide guidance to positioning lamps for installation and replacement, torquing mounting hardware to proper specs and how to avoid harsh chemical contact with lamp lenses. It also provides on-road instructions for keeping lamps clean from debris, reducing shock and vibration and more.
