Bosch announces software update for HD diagnostic solution

Bosch announced the 2021/4 software update for the 3824A ESI[truck] Heavy Duty Diagnostic Solution. Thousands of new tests and codes have been added to help technicians provide the most up-to-date service on hundreds of commercial vehicles. In addition, the update includes new makes and models that can be serviced, such as Navistar MaxxForce engines, Mack TCM Transmission and Dana CTIS Mechatronic.

Bosch says the latest software version adds the following functionality and optimizations:

Expanding coverage: The newest update will cover hundreds of new makes and models to allow technicians to help a broader range of customers. This includes the Mack EMS V3 Engine, new Detroit Cascadia models and Volvo/Mack US17/US19/US21 Models. In addition, 33,340 fault codes, 2,281 electronic control systems and 820 diagnostic capabilities are included in the new update.

Search server for new system variants: The update connects to the Bosch server to search for new system variants, providing enhanced data access and allowing technicians to serve the whole shop better. New system updates can be downloaded to diagnostic tools after accessing the Bosch server.

Populated VIN and mileage data: For smoother diagnoses, connected vehicles that provide VIN and/or odometer readings in the available data stream will automatically populate on the System Overview Report.

Extended License Subscription available: Extended License Subscription (ELS) provides technicians the opportunity to continue to use existing ESI truck software when the annual update lapses or expires. Technicians can continue to provide quality diagnoses with Bosch products. However, for the best results, it’s recommended to follow the periodic updates.
